STS Course SyllabiUpdated August 10, 2008 This is a collection of interdisciplinary syllabi under the rubric of science and technology studies. This page has been updated and reorganized as a project by the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) to provide teaching materials for the larger STS community as part of share and exchange our intellectual frame works, projects and products. The collection of Syllabi are organized by professor, course title, and discipline. First clicking on the any categories. At the list click on the syllabus course title you would like to look at and it is available on HTML (some of the syllabi are available on as doc. and pdf. as well as HTML, which is found after the professors name). The page was first conceived at a meeting in Cambridge, MA in January 2003. The goal is to make available to professors, students, administrators, and others with an interest in STS syllabi that reflect the most current approaches to teaching within the specialty area. Rather than limiting the collection to core STS courses, the desire is to provide users with a range of syllabi that capture diverse topics taught in this area. This project is ongoing. New syllabi will be continually added. Please consider contributing your own syllabi to the collection. You can easily do so by sending an electronic attachment to Chris Kortright. Each syllabus should include complete bibliographies. You also might include examples of projects, paper assignments, exams, or other material that you feel would be helpful. In the text of your message, indicate the level of instruction, the program/department within which it is taught, and language of instruction. Thank you to all who have contributed syllabi. Also, thanks goes to the National Science Foundation, Program
in Science & Technology Studies for funding the Workshop on Science & Technology
Studies in the Liberal Arts Curriculum, from which the idea for this
project was initiated. |
