In the current context of unprecedented economic, social, environmental and public health crises on a planetary scale, it is necessary to delve deeper into the political and social dimensions of scientific knowledge and technological development, showing the diversity of ways of understanding and sustaining the world and life. To this end, it is important to look at Indigenous Knowledges (IK) and the technological developments that accompany it. We understand IK as a diversity of ways of sustaining life based on historical processes of building relationships and understandings in and with the territory. Although since the late 1980s Science and Technology Studies began to pay more attention to local knowledge, Indigenous Knowledges still do not occupy a preponderant place in this field. In this multilingual panel (Spanish, Portuguese and English) we seek to bring together researchers interested in learning about and deepening their understanding of Indigenous Knowledges and Technologies. We propose the following topics for discussion: a) Appropriation of Indigenous Knowledges and Technologies; b) Applied research and technological solutions developed by Indigenous communities; c) Public policies on Indigenous Knowledges and Technologies; d) Uses and developments of ICTs by Indigenous Peoples; e) Indigenous, decolonial and postcolonial studies of science and technology; f) The confrontation of Indigenous and Eurocentric/Western/Northern ontologies; g) Indigenous Knowledges and sustainable community development.
