The course is hosted by the Bertha von Suttner Private University. It will take place from June 16-23, 2024 at the venue of our social partner in Innsbruck: the Waldhuettl, a community of transnationally mobile Roma and local activists. This summer school offers a unique training opportunity in Participatory Action Research.

The course welcomes people with different levels of experience in participatory processes and community work or who want to conduct and apply participatory action research in their work.

Participants come from different countries across Europe and beyond. We continue to encourage applications from individuals worldwide, especially those from the Global South, marginalized groups, and minorities.

The Camp uses tailor-made methodologies to develop participants’ knowledge of, and skills in, participatory research methods and to increase their capacity for collaborative action. The summer school extends a warm invitation to advanced and doctoral students, as well as researchers. In addition, activists, community practitioners, and individuals affiliated with governmental and non-profit organizations are invited to become part of this program.

Candidates can apply for this international summer school through Suttneruni’s application platform. You are asked to submit a 2-3 page letter of interest (3,000 to 4,000 characters) and a short CV. These details will be used to select a group of 25-30 participants. Please explain your motivation to participate in the program and highlight any relevant experience related to it.
