3 Years Postdoc at Politecnico di Milano - Well-Being, Measurement, and Data in the Built Environment

The Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering (www.dabc.polimi.it<https://www.dabc.polimi.it>) and META - Social Sciences and Humanities for Science and Technology (www.meta.polimi.it<http://www.meta.polimi.it>) are seeking applications for a 1+2 years postdoctoral position at Politecnico di Milano for the project - Built environment, health, and technological innovation: Well-being, measurement, and datafication in the built environment. The successful candidate will work on establishing a collaborative project and in interdisciplinary collaboration between philosophers of science and technology and architects and construction engineers at Politecnico di Milano.

Expected research topics include, but are not limited to:
-       Salutogenesis and the influence of the (built) environment on health;
-       Measurement and digital technologies (AI, big data) for architecture and construction;
-       The philosophy and ethics of well-being.

Gross salary is about 30.000 per year (healthcare is included).

Qualifications and Requirements
-       A PhD degree in philosophy of science and/or technology and ethics or related area by the deadline of the application;
-       Evidence of interdisciplinary collaborations and eagerness to establish new collaborations with architects and engineers;
-       The position does not involve teaching duties, but teaching in English is possible and would entitle to additional compensation (knowledge of Italian is not required).

Research Environment
The appointee will join the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering (DABC) (www.dabc.polimi.it<http://www.dabc.polimi.it>) and the study unit META - Social Sciences and Humanities for Science and Technology (www.meta.polimi.it<http://www.meta.polimi.it>). META is an interdisciplinary network of scholars in the humanities and social sciences that aims to produce and disseminate knowledge and offering expertise in epistemological, ethical, and social issues related to the processes of science, technology, and innovation. This position is part of Politecnico di Milano's long-term project of recruiting scholars in the humanities and social sciences at Politecnico di Milano to work closely with engineers and consolidating their presence in engineering departments. The appointee will be involved in this project and current activities in this direction (teaching, research, dissemination), which might create additional positions (including tenure-track ones
 ) and career steps for the successful candidate.
