Seeking Nominations for ASA Anti-Racism Awards

Seeking Nominations for ASA Anti-Racism Awards:   The 4S community is invited to submit nominations for two prizes from the American Sociological Association (ASA) recognizing antiracism scholarship and practice it the intersection of science, knowledge, technology, and society.  The first award, the 2024 Ida B. Wells-Duster Award for published articles/chapters, recognizes outstanding and liberatory publications (articles/book chapters) in the science, technology, and society from junior scholars, especially those who identify as BIPOC and who are located in non-tenure track positions. The second award, the 2024 Emancipatory Practice Award recognizes a non-academic BIPOC individual, collective, or organization that is fostering anti-racist social change through public engagement with STS knowledge and principles.  This could include activist leadership, artistic works, and other social justice initiatives.  The nomination deadline is March 15, 2024, and self-nominations are welcome.  More details and nomination guidelines are available here.
