STS practices and thoughts could improve the Maker Movement with an important background for academic discussions and projects. Our DIY at school research aggregates the aspect knowings to this maker perspective. The DIY at Brazilian schools can be a manifestation of making and knowings, especially as an approach to empower originals practices and situated knowledge. We are proposing a theoretical deepening for the making at School from Freire, Papert, Gershenfeld, Blikstein and, additionally, offering a theoretical background based on Science, Technology and Society Studies – STS, with the Brazilian thinker Álvaro Vieira Pinto.
