The Shore Line is a collection of stories about individuals who are responding to the threats of massive development, destructive storms, and rising sea levels on coastal communities around the world. There has never been a better time to rethink our relationship to shorelines. Half of all the world’s population lives close to the shore and over 70% of the world’s coastlines are vulnerable to sea level rise. Do we prioritize buildings over beaches? How can we plan for the future? The Shore Line is an online documentary profiling how educators, artists, architects, scientists, city planners, and youth organizations from Canada, the U.S., Panama, India, Bangladesh and New Zealand are confronting coastal challenges with innovation.
