The Program Chair will endeavor to accommodate legitimate professional groups, such as editorial boards, who need meeting space during the conference.
We may also be able to accommodate social and interest groups, depending on available space. Groups are also encouraged to find satellite locations for such meetups, which we can include in the meeting program.
We are happy to list in the program any related activities during the conference or shortly before or after that might enhance our visitors’ experience.
For all correspondence around these subjects, please contact meeting@easst4s2020prague.org.
Since its inception, the Society for the Social Studies of Science Student Section (6S) has hosted workshops and events during the annual meetings of the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S), designed to facilitate community among students and junior scholars of science studies and further opportunities for collaboration.
This year, the 6S pre-conference workshop will take place virtually on Monday, August 17, 2020 (time will be determined based on time zones of participants). The workshop is free to 4S and EASST student members and we have space for 40-50 graduate students (PhD/Masters programs or equivalent).
Participants will complete two exercises in advance of the virtual workshop meeting, one relating to the stage of their research project development, and one relating to a thematic topic of their interest. In the weeks leading up to the virtual workshop meeting, participants will engage with each other’s exercises via the STS Infrastructures platform. During the virtual meeting, guest faculty speakers will moderate conversations around the exercises and beyond.
